Brilliant first day in Glasgow

Well we had a great first day in Glasgow. The first night didn’t go according to plan as my flight was really late which meant I missed a party. And you know I don’t like to do that! But the rest of the weekend more than made up for it!

After the girls (Christine and Majella) did a bit of shopping, we headed off to Uberlounge, just off Sauchiehall Street for some brilliant raspberry beer (and yes, it’s a REAL man’s drink!) and then some pizzas. Just time to go back to the hotel and meet Ailse (my sister who came through from uni at St Andrews) and G, who was late arriving from Glasgow, and then it was out on the town!

We started off at Firewater which is a kind of indie bar - not particularly classy but good fun and nice and lively. Not bad girls either! And G had a bit of luck - unfortunately only with a fruit machine, but he won £15! Our best result yet! After that, it was off to the ABC Club - a new club in a converted cinema on Sauchiehall Street. Brilliant is all I can say - a great mix of music from Motown to the Kaiser Chiefs, and a really nice layout. That’s it above. Then, it was just time for some takeaway Chinese food, and a long walk back to the hotel!
