Happy Birthday to me

January 16th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Belfast, Friends

It was my birthday on Sunday! Obviously Sunday is a bit of a rubbish night for going out, so a whole load of us went out on Saturday night. First off we headed to Cafe Vaudeville, which was a bit of a disaster. It looks nice inside, but the crowd looked like they had just [...]

A closer look at the iPhone

January 11th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Apple, Mac, Technology

CBS News has a great video (above) which shows off the iPhone and all that it can do. Check it out - if like me - you can’t wait to get your hands on one yourself! The Guardian says that the ‘phone could be available in the UK by October. Still too long to wait [...]

I’m having a very boring week

January 11th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Books, Friends, Work

Which explains why I haven’t been posting much - I just haven’t been up to much at all. Part of the reason for this is that I’m totally skint this month for some reason. It’s my birthday this weekend (all presents welcome) so I’m kind of having to save my last bit of cash for going [...]

Oh.. it’s beautiful!

January 9th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Apple, Technology

Well Apple’s iPhone was finally announced today after years of speculation! I was really hoping it would be available straight away in the US, and unlocked, as I’m off to Dallas next week.
But, it looks like it won’t be out until June, and the only carrier signed up with it at the moment is Cingular, [...]

A Bungalow club night!

January 3rd, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Bungalow, Film / TV, Friends

Dick & Dom in da Bungalow - a show I used to work on which is sadly missed. If only work now was as interesting or half as much fun! I got an e-mail today to say that the boys DJing on a night - Dick & Dom DJ in da Club - at Turnmills [...]

A trip to Scotland and a brilliant club

January 2nd, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Food and Drink, Friends, Scotland

After Dublin and Belfast, it was back to my home town of Dundee for two days leading up to New Year. The weather was totally weird as you can see from the picture above, and as always, it was absolutely freezing.
Highlight of my trip has to be heading to Glasgow to see my friends Nick [...]

A quick stop in Belfast

January 2nd, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Belfast, Family, Friends

Well on my trip around Ireland and the UK over Christmas / New Year, the family had one night to spend in Belfast, so obviously it was a chance to catch up with mates and go out drinking! We had an amazing meal at Cayenne (which has to be my favourite restaurant in Belfast, although [...]

Presents!

January 2nd, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Family

I got some great presents this year for Christmas - including the JBL On Time speaker for my Ipod (that’s it above). It’s basically a really good-sounding speaker for my iPod, and it includes an alarm clock so I can wake to music rather than crazy BEEP-BEEP-BEEPING from my old alarm clock. Other cool stuff [...]
