Clever….

February 28th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Web/Tech, Weird

I was looking at Google Maps tonight (there’s a prize if you can guess what I was looking at) when I saw that massive Target sign. From way way up above you can still see it.
It’s obviously a Target store but I thought it was pretty neat that they bother painting a massive target on [...]

Jill’s crazy birthday night out which turned into a drunken affair….

February 25th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Belfast, Friends

It is my mate Jill’s birthday today, but we headed out to the lovely Belfast eaterie Shu to celebrate on Friday night. It was the first time I’d been out properly since my birthday way back in the middle of January, but I was planning on taking it easy, as I was due in work [...]

Why can’t we get in-flight entertainment like this?

February 25th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Film / TV, Technology, Travel

This is the entertainment system on the upcoming (if they’re ever allowed to fly) Virgin America. With a similar (but no so advanced) system already on Jet Blue, why can’t we get some of that over here? Or come to think of it, even on American Airlines flights over there?
And speaking of Virgin, it sucks [...]

Scooby Scooby Doo!

February 25th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Belfast, Funny

I saw Scooby Doo yesterday lunchtime. I think it’s really him!
My wee sister Ailse asked if he came running over thinking I was Shaggy (she thinks I look like him) but he did not.

Work, work, work, work, work.

That is my schedule for the next five weeks. I get a whole four days off. I am not really looking forward to this.

Avril Lavigne’s new single

February 19th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Music

It’s called “Girlfriend”. Hmmm… maybe it will grow on me. Out on March 19th, and the album, “The Best Damn Thing” is out on April 17th.

She looks hot there I reckon!

Muff time

February 18th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Food and Drink

Well Muffins anyway. No idea what they taste like yet though. And I most definitely not have turned all girly by starting to bake. I was just bored. It was strangely relaxing though….

How to make Big Macs at home

February 18th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Food and Drink, Web/Tech

Fancy making a Big Mac at home? topsecretrecipes.com has loads and loads of recipes for well known (mostly American) fast food items, sauces, and other brand name foods.
I haven’t tried to make anything off here, so I can’t judge how good it is, but they must be quite popular given their book range (available in [...]

Can’t instant message at work? Try this

February 18th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Internet, Web/Tech, Work

I guess we’re pretty lucky at the BBC in that we have Windows Messenger on our PCs, which works with internal and external people. However, what if you don’t have an instant messenger at work and want to chat to your mates? (For example if you’re bored…)
Well Meebo might be the solution for you - [...]
