Why can’t we get in-flight entertainment like this?

This is the entertainment system on the upcoming (if they’re ever allowed to fly) Virgin America. With a similar (but no so advanced) system already on Jet Blue, why can’t we get some of that over here? Or come to think of it, even on American Airlines flights over there?
And speaking of Virgin, it sucks that Sky are taking their channels off Virgin Media (which I have) if Virgin don’t pay over the odds for them. I’m going to have to download 24, as I am not missing that! Grrrrr. And for some reason Sky insist on referring to Virgin Media as ntl:/Virgin which is just childish!
