Food and Drink, Ham'n'Cheese
I LOVE ham and cheese toasted sandwiches. To me it is a match made in heaven. Ham, cheese and bread. Delicious. If ever I spot a ham and cheese toasted sandwich someplace I haven’t seen one before, I will usually give it a go in my search for the ultimate one.
Currently, Starbucks does the trick [...]

I used to get about 70 comment spams a day on this site - basically where spammers try and leave a comment with links to their sites (usually cheap generic drugs, used cars, or the obvious young scantily-clad women). It was extremely frustrating.
Then I found akismet which does a really good job of filtering out [...]

Northern Ireland beat Sweden tonight in the European Championship qualifiers and are top of their group, Scotland are second in their group, and England languish fourth in theirs!
When it comes to national teams playing, I have to support Scotland every single time - it’s kind of built into you (as is always supporting whoever’s playing [...]

I had my fourth night out so far this year on Friday night (I really need to get out more). It was my mate Leah’s birthday.
So, obviously it all started out tame enough with some drinks in Bar Bacca, then it went wrong with tequila and champagne. Some of us made it in to the [...]

In my hungover state yesterday, I watched a brilliant, moving documentary called “Abduction - the Megumi Yokota Story”. It was shown on BBC Four earlier this week.
It’s about a 13 year old girl who was kidnapped from her home in Japan and taken to North Korea where she was made to teach spies Japanese and [...]

Well my invite must have got lost in the post, but yesterday Abercrombie opened their first UK store - in Saville Row in London. I’ll need to check it out next time I’m over.
They’ve also opened a UK specific website - here, and pricing (which seems quite steep compared to US prices) now include import [...]

I think this might be the most exciting post I ever write! I have been busy this week getting to grips with new household appliances. I got a new washing machine / tumble dryer delivered on Wednesday after successfully managing to disconnect the old one without entirely flooding my flat. It seems extremely complicated (as [...]

A lot of people slag Fame Academy as a lame rip-off of ITV shows, but I really like it, and I’ve been quite enjoying the Comic Relief version. I thought tonight’s show was particularly good because….
it reminded me that I like some cheesy songs (like erm “Kissin’ in the Back Row of the Movies” and [...]

Yeah, yeah, I know I’m waaaaaaaaay behind with the times, but I finally saw the brilliant Little Miss Sunshine this weekend. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
It made me laugh out loud several times, so if you haven’t seen it already, go and rent it (or buy it). You can watch the trailer here.
It is [...]

Looking like something out of a 1930s science-fiction film, an unexpected bonus of my trip to Omagh this week was the discovery of what I consider to be the oldest hand dryer I have ever laid my eyes on.
I had to snap it with my mobile so the picture quality is a bit rubbish but [...]
