Why do we have to wait!

The iPhone arrives in the US next week. And still no word about when it’s going to arrive on these shores. I’ve had my current ‘phone for two and a half years now and it’s beginning to suck. But I don’t want to sign up for a new 12 month contract before the iPhone arrives.
