UK iTunes store gets tv programmes

August 29th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Apple, Film / TV, Internet, iTunes

TV programmes debuted on the UK iTunes store today. At the moment you can buy (for £1.89) programming from ABC, Disney and MTV amongst others. More info here.
Until we see some BBC and Channel 4 programmes on there, I don’t think this will really go mainstream, although some big shows like Ugly Betty and Grey’s [...]

Crazy shops….

August 28th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Food and Drink, Shopping, Travel

On my trip, I discovered that there is a chain of record shops in California called Rasputin Music. Rasputin was basically a guy that lived in Russia at the turn of the 20th Century. He was really controversial because he came to have a lot of influence over the Russian Royal Family at the time. He [...]

People often ask me if people wear stetsons in Dallas.

August 28th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Dallas, Travel, Weird

The answer is yes. This is a real dude, and not an actor. Neither is the baggy pants guy with the weird top thing beside him an actor. They were waiting for a bus.

Have you ever wanted to get your cat tattooed?

August 28th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Shopping, Weird

Well maybe you can now, as I saw this shop in Dallas. It could be a shop where you can get your cat tattooed. Then again, it may not be. If you are in Dallas and want to check it out, it was on Beltline.

Diet Coke with added bits

August 28th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Food and Drink

I found this whilst on holiday. It is Diet Coke plus and it is a bit more expensive than regular Diet Coke, at about $2.50 a bottle. It’s Diet Coke with vitamins and minerals added! Which seems a bit weird as it is like a healthy version of an unhealthy drink, but there you go. [...]

I am back!

August 28th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Dallas, Family, Food and Drink, Travel

Yes indeedy. I’m sure you haven’t missed me but I am back after spending two weeks in the USofA. I had about one week in Dallas and then one week in Palo Alto, California. It was great! I was pretty busy all the time though, so I didn’t get a chance to post here.
One of [...]

I’m off on my hols!

August 12th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Uncategorized

I am off to Dallas and maybe California as well for a week and a half! And then I’m taking some time off in Belfast before going back to work. I have 20 hours travelling time in total tomorrow as I am flying through a place called Raleigh/Durham wherever that may be. Apparently it’s a [...]

A couple of nights out

August 12th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Belfast, Friends

Well I was out for the first time in AGES this week, not once but twice! Thursday night was a night catching up with Christine, G and Jill, who was going on holiday for a week - she’s raving in Ibiza as we speak. Probably. We started at Apartment and then went down to the [...]

Some post-it notes and a bit of imagination

August 8th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Advertising, Film / TV

This is an ad for South African mobile network MTN. It was created by ad agency Metropolitan Republic, and I thought it was pretty cool. They’ve also done a good one involving clapping for the same client. A lot of planning went into this one I bet!

How my Mum probably wishes I look

August 8th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Funny, Web/Tech

Toodle pip! This is probably how my Mum wishes I look - very posh, and with the title of Viscount Upper Dundee! Monifieth probably would have sounded even better, but never mind.
See my posh twin in his full glory here, or make your own here! (It is a Burger King site advertising their new burger which [...]
