Neverending Story being re-made (and will probably be ruined)

When I was about 11, the film The Neverending Story came out and I absolutely, absolutely loved it. It’s German, so it’s a bit weird in places as kids films made there tend to be usually, but it totally caught by imagination. And I also had a severe crush on The Childlike Empress. I think I probably liked it because it was full of kids doing really amazingly bonkers things.
Anyway, apparently it’s going to be remade, and it will no doubt be some Hollywood spectacular, and be completely ruined. Boo! Yes the visual effects in the film now are totally laughable, but I’m sure the new one won’t be nearly as good.
