Blast from the past

April 16th, 2009  |  by Simon  |  published in Family

Me and my little sis in Houston, around 1980. You can bet if we were looking like friends in this, we were probably beating crap out of each other by the time we got around the corner.
Check the dude in the blue suit!

My sister’s first byline

March 2nd, 2009  |  by Simon  |  published in Family, Fashion

I’m proud of my little sis. She’s been working as an intern at Tatler, and before returning there as a Fashion Assistant in May, she’s been interning at Womens’ Wear Daily for London Fashion Week.
She had her first article with a byline published online this week, you can read it here. Way to go sis!

Christmas time

January 5th, 2009  |  by Simon  |  published in Family, Travel

Well I’m back at home now after a relaxing Christmas break, and back to work today as well. I went to visit my family in London this year for Christmas, and we all went off to a very nice hotel (in the pic above) for four days over Christmas. It was great to chill out [...]

I am an uncle. Weird!

November 4th, 2008  |  by Simon  |  published in Family

Aww! It is not often I have pictures of babies on my blog, so enjoy it while you can! This is my new niece, Cecilia. She has made me for an uncle for the first time, which is just a very strange feeling. It also makes me feel a bit old.  :(
Cecilia was born to [...]

A trip to Buckingham Palace

November 3rd, 2008  |  by Simon  |  published in Family

I had a bit of a crazy week last week. I was in London for the last part of my BBC Leadership course (all about disciplining and harrassment, not very pleasant), but on Thursday, me, my Mum, my Dad and one of my sisters, Ailse, went off to Buckingham Palace!
My Dad was getting an MBE. [...]

Jill and I head to London

August 5th, 2008  |  by Simon  |  published in Family, Friends

So on Friday there, Jill and I headed to London for G’s wedding! I had quite a packed day on Friday, meeting my Dad, going out to Television Centre and popping into see some mates, and also having lunch with my friend Christine.
After that it was back to the hotel to catch up on some [...]

Short shorts

February 10th, 2008  |  by Simon  |  published in Family

My Dad has been scanning in and e-mailing me all these old photos, which I love ‘cos they’re the only photos I have of me when I was wee.

NY in the Big D

January 21st, 2008  |  by Simon  |  published in Dallas, Family

Ok, first off I haven’t blogged in ages, sorry about that, I have been pretty manic since I got back, but more on that later! Still in Dallas, I had a pretty quiet but good New Year’s Eve. Last year kinda sucked as I just ended up staying in, but this year, Ailse, her friends [...]

Merry Christmas y’all!

December 26th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Family, Travel

Merry Christmas everybody! I have come to Texas for Christmas to spend it with the family. For the last couple of days, including Christmas itself, we have been staying at a nice hotel in San Antonio which is about five hours drive from Dallas. It is a celebrity haunt as we have seen Thierry Henri [...]

Ailsa’s 21st – trip to Scotlandia!

November 19th, 2007  |  by Simon  |  published in Family, Scotland, Travel

My wee sister turned 21 last month! That was a bit sad really as it means I’m getting old – I can vaguely remember the day we went to hospital to pick her up. Anyway, to celebrate, I flew over to Scotland to surprise her, and my other sister flew over from Dallas (I think [...]
